We as workers, students, concerned citizens, families and the electorate of Ontario and Canada despise what is transpiring at the ECP / USW picket line in Brantford Ontario. This dispute is a textbook case of why Anti Scab legislation is needed so desperately in Ontario. 86 members of USW local 1-500 have locked out by virtue of obscene wage concessions from this American Company since August 23, 2008. Strike breaking security forces usher in and execute a choreographed plan to supply replacement workers in blacked out vehicles and buses. Strikers have peacefully endured this injustice for over one full year on the line in a dispute engineered by the company "Engineered Coated Products". All this abuse is legal under the strike breaking laws of this province and the majority of the other provinces. Ontario’s laws enacted by previous Conservative government and enforced by the current Liberal regime without conscience.............

WORKERS AT ECP AT 369 ELGIN STREET IN BRANTFORD HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN A BITTER DISPUTE . THE 86 MEMBERS OF USW LOCAL 1-500 HAVE BEEN FORCED TO THE STREET WITH OUTRAGEOUS COMPANY DEMANDS FOR 35% CONCESSIONS . NOT ONE BROTHER OR SISTER HAS CROSSED THE LINE THAT WAS SET UP ONE YEAR AGO ON AUG 23 ,2008 . ECP HAS SPARED NO EXPENSE AND ARE OPERATING AT ABOUT 50% CAPACITY WITH NO END IN SITE .THE COMPANY HAS HIRED AFI SECURITY TO USHER IN SCABS 24 /7. BDLC LOBBIED THE LOCAL MUNICIPAL POLITITIONS UNTIL THEY PASSED A RESOLUTION CALLING THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT TO ENACT ANTI SCAB LEGISLATION . TO DATE OUR LIBERAL PREMIER DALTON MCGUINTY HAS DONE NOTHING AND OUR LOCAL MPP DAVE LEVAC IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND . CONSERVATIVE MP PHIL McCOLEMAN HAS NOT BEEN OF ANY HELP OR SUPPORT . ONLY BRIAN VAN TILBORG OF THE NDP HAS BEEN A VOICE FOR THESE WORKERS AND A PRESENCE ON THEIR LINE PLEASE VISIT THEIR LINE WALK WITH THEM - THEY ARE WALKING FOR US!
